According to reports, the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) has stated that its protest at Jantar Mantar will continue after its representatives met Union Health Minister Jagat Prakash (JP) Nadda on Monday (20 July), but did not receive any immediate commitment on their demands.

• CJP representatives Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka met J.P. Nadda at his residence and submitted a memorandum outlining the movement’s demands. The memorandum sought the release of activist Sonam Wangchuk without restrictions on his movement, the resignation or removal of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, and compensation of INR 10 million for the family of every NEET aspirant who reportedly died by suicide following the alleged NEET 2026 paper leak.
• Nadda reportedly assured the representatives that the demands would be discussed at the appropriate level after consultations with the government and party leadership. However, no specific commitment or implementation timeline was announced.
• Authorities subsequently appealed to the protesters to end their sit-in and cooperate with the administration in restoring normalcy around Jantar Mantar. CJP representatives rejected reports that the demonstration had concluded and stated that the protest would continue until concrete action is taken.
• CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke ended his indefinite hunger strike on Monday at the request of Sonam Wangchuk and joined the protest march. Delhi Police subsequently clarified that Dipke had neither been detained nor arrested.
• Sonam Wangchuk remains admitted to Safdarjung Hospital and continues his hunger strike. The Delhi High Court has directed the hospital to submit his pathological reports and health bulletins for further assessment of his medical condition.
• The court is expected to consider Wangchuk’s medical records and the petition concerning his continued hospitalisation on Tuesday (21 July). His wife, Gitanjali Angmo, has sought permission to transfer him to a private hospital, while authorities have maintained that he requires continued medical supervision.
• No fresh CJP march towards Parliament has been announced for Tuesday, as of writing. However, the continuation of the sit-in and the absence of a resolution may prompt further gatherings at Jantar Mantar.
