As per reports, operational staff of the Brussels Fire and Emergency Medical Assistance Service (SIAMU) are scheduled to hold a 24-hour strike on Tuesday (21 July) following a notice filed by a joint trade union front.

• The strike action is expected to involve emergency service personnel, with participating staff instructed to remain at home pending any official requisition.
• Trade unions announced the action to protest against planned reductions in staffing levels, the removal of rescue vehicles, mandatory personnel transfers and proposed changes to staff benefits.
• The unions are also opposing the introduction of an annual evaluation system, which they claim could increase pressure on personnel.
