As per reports, the Uruguayan Institute of Meteorology (Inumet) has announced a weather forecast predicting storms and windy conditions across the San José Department on Sunday (19 July) and Monday (20 July).

• The meteorological office has forecast that unstable atmospheric conditions are anticipated to affect the Central-South zone over a 48-hour period.
• On Sunday (19 July), the day is expected to commence with overcast skies, precipitation, and storms accompanied by fog layers that may reduce surface visibility.
• Surface wind speeds on Sunday (19 July) are expected to blow from the east to the north at velocities between 10 kilometres per hour and 40 kilometres per hour.
• Wind gusts are anticipated to increase in intensity during active storm cells, reaching up to 50 kilometres per hour during the daytime hours.
• Coastal sectors within the region are anticipated to experience an increase in wind activity, with gusts reaching up to 60 kilometres per hour shifting from north to south.
• Ambient temperatures on Sunday (19 July) are forecast to range between a minimum of 12 degrees Celsius and a maximum of 18 degrees Celsius.
• The affected areas include San José de Mayo, Libertad, Ciudad del Plata, Rodríguez, and Ecilda Paullier in the San José Department, with key road corridors at risk, including Route 1, Route 3, and Route 11.
