The Indonesian Agency for Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics (BMKG) reported a 4.8 magnitude earthquake approximately 168 kilometres northwest of Maluku Tenggara Barat, at 0150 hours (local time) on Saturday (18 July).

The earthquake occurred at a depth of 140 kilometres.
