Situational update on unauthorised Israeli entry into Kifl Haris as of Wednesday (15 July)

As per reports, the security situation in Kifl Haris, Salfit Governorate, remained tense as of Wednesday (15 July) following an incident during the early hours of Monday (14 July), when approximately 100 Israeli citizens entered the Palestinian village without prior coordination with Israeli security authorities.

• The incident reportedly resulted in confrontations between Israeli visitors and local Palestinian residents, damage to Palestinian vehicles and property, and the deployment of Israeli Defence Forces (IDF), Border Police and Israeli Police personnel.
• Israeli authorities subsequently arrested five Jerusalem residents, aged between 16 and 20, at the Hizma Checkpoint on suspicion of illegally entering the village and causing property damage.
• Reports indicate instances of vandalism targeting homes and vehicles, while some Israeli participants alleged they were struck by stones during the confrontation.
