Additional Metro-North railway services scheduled for New York Knicks Championship Parade on Friday (19 June)

As per reports, transportation authorities have announced additional Metro-North Railroad services from Connecticut to New York City on Friday (19 June) to accommodate increased passenger demand associated with the New York Knicks Championship Parade.

• The parade is scheduled to begin at 1000 hours local time (1400 hours UTC) near Bowling Green in Lower Manhattan and will proceed north along Broadway to City Hall. Large crowds are expected along the parade route, with significant increases in rail passenger volumes anticipated throughout the morning.
• To support travel to the event, Metro-North will operate an additional train on the New Haven Line, departing Stamford at 0652 hours local time (1052 hours UTC) and arriving at Grand Central Terminal at 0753 hours local time (1153 hours UTC).
• The service will stop at Greenwich, Port Chester, and Rye. In addition, seven morning trains will make extra stops at New Rochelle, Stamford, Rowayton, Darien, and Fairfield-Black Rock between 0547 hours local time (0947 hours UTC) and 0746 hours local time (1146 hours UTC).
