As per reports, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has introduced additional water conservation measures across Mumbai due to critically low reservoir levels and delayed monsoon rainfall from Wednesday (17 June).

• As per new measures, water connections to all construction sites have been temporarily disconnected, approvals for new construction-related water connections have been suspended, and water supply to swimming pools has been halted.
• The BMC has also imposed a 20 percent reduction in water supply to industrial units, commercial establishments, and sports clubs, while warning of strict enforcement action against misuse or wastage of drinking water.
