As per reports, a magnitude 2.6 earthquake occurred approximately 36 kilometres from Golaghat, Assam at 0240 hours (local time) on Thursday (18 June).

The earthquake was recorded at a depth of 5 kilometres. The earthquake was not felt, or at least no felt reports have been received. There have been no immediate reports of casualties, injuries, infrastructure damage or transportation disruptions.
