As per reports, a magnitude 4.9 earthquake occurred approximately 43 kilometres from Malapatan, Soccsksargen at 0416 hours (local time) on Tuesday (16 June).

• The earthquake was recorded at a shallow depth of 42 kilometres.
• The earthquake was not reported as felt at the time of reporting. There have been no immediate reports of casualties, injuries, infrastructure damage or transportation disruptions associated with the event.
