Nearly 6,000 security personnel to be deployed for Negeri Sembilan State Election from Saturday (18 July)

As per reports, Malaysian authorities have announced the deployment of 5,953 security personnel throughout the Negeri Sembilan state election period to ensure public order and the smooth conduct of electoral activities. According to Negeri Sembilan Police Chief Datuk Alzafny Ahmad, the deployment includes 4,845 police officers and personnel, supported by members of the People’s Volunteer Corps (RELA) and the Police Volunteer Reserve.

Security preparations will encompass crowd management, traffic control, campaign monitoring, law enforcement, and contingency planning. Police will intensify monitoring of political ceramahs, campaign events, party processions, and other election-related activities while taking action against activities that could disrupt public order.

• The Election Commission has scheduled Nomination Day on Saturday (18 July), early voting on Tuesday (28 July), and polling day on Saturday (01 August). Authorities have also urged political parties and supporters to avoid provocation, misinformation, and activities that could heighten tensions during the election period.
