As per reports, the Metropolitan Municipality of Lima announced temporary vehicular traffic restrictions in the Historic Centre from 0000 hours local time (0500 hours UTC) on Friday (13 June) to 0000 hours local time (0500 hours UTC) on Sunday (15 June).
• Reports indicate that the restriction covers the internal perimeter bounded by Alfonso Ugarte Avenue, the Rímac River outline, Amazonas and Huánuco streets, and Sebastián Lorente, Miguel Grau and 9 de Diciembre avenues in Cercado de Lima.
• The measure has been implemented following intelligence reports indicating planned demonstrations in the Historic Centre.
• Operational enforcement is being conducted by the National Police, including road closures, traffic control, and security measures in coordination with municipal authorities and the Urban Transport Authority.
• Public transport operations, including Metropolitano and complementary corridors, may face route adjustments or circulation restrictions depending on security conditions during the period.
• Exceptions apply to emergency services, police vehicles, authorised official vehicles, residents, and logistics vehicles linked to approved activities within the restricted zone.
