The United States Geological Survey (USGS) reported a 4.2 magnitude earthquake approximately 130 kilometres north of Lae, Papua New Guinea, at 0738 hours (local time) on Saturday (13 June).

The earthquake was recorded at a depth of 188.1 kilometres.
