As per reports, vehicular circulation restrictions are in effect in the Province of Santiago and the communes of San Bernardo and Puente Alto on Thursday (11 June), as part of the Plan de Gestión de Episodios Críticos (GEC) 2026 of the Ministry of Environment.
• The restrictions are in effect from 0730 hours local time (1030 hours UTC) until 2100 hours local time (0000 hours UTC) on Thursday (11 June).
• The measure is aimed at reducing atmospheric contamination levels in Santiago during the autumn and winter months.
• On Thursday (11 June), catalytic vehicles with a green seal registered before 01 September 2011, with licence plates ending in the digits four or five, are subject to circulation restrictions.
• Non-catalytic vehicles without a green seal (sin sello verde), with licence plates ending in the digits eight, nine, zero, or one, are also subject to circulation restrictions on Thursday (11 June).
• Non-catalytic vehicles are subject to an absolute prohibition on entry within the Américo Vespucio ring road at all times, irrespective of their licence plate digit.
• Enforcement of the restrictions is carried out by Carabineros de Chile, municipal inspectors, and officials of the Ministry of Transport.
