• Temperatures are expected to reach the low-to-mid 90s Fahrenheit on Thursday (11 June) and Friday (12 June), with heat index values likely to approach or exceed triple digits due to elevated dew point readings in the low 70 degrees Fahrenheit.
• Wednesday (10 June) is expected to serve as a transition day, with increasing humidity, dew points climbing throughout the day, scattered rainfall and isolated storm activity anticipated. Conditions are expected to deteriorate further overnight into Thursday (11 June).
• Cooling centres across New York City are expected to be operational for the duration of the heat advisory period.
• Conditions are expected to improve over the weekend, with clear skies and temperatures in the 80 degrees Fahrenheit anticipated for Saturday (13 June) and Sunday (14 June).
