Traffic diversions and public transport disruptions expected in Vitoria-Gasteiz due to Vi Half Gasteiz triathlon on Saturday (06 June)

As per reports, traffic diversions, street closures, and public transport disruptions are expected in Vitoria-Gasteiz on Saturday (06 June) due to the Vi Half Gasteiz triathlon.

• The sporting event is scheduled to commence at 1230 hours local time (1030 hours UTC) from Garaio Park with a 1.9-kilometre swimming segment in the Ullíbarri-Gamboa reservoir. Following this, the 90-kilometre cycling sector is projected to enter the capital of Alava between 1445 hours local time (1245 hours UTC) and 1745 hours local time (1545 hours UTC) via the N-104 from Elorriaga.
• The route will cross Brussels Avenue, Nadine Gordimer, Paseo de la Iliada, Bulevar de Salburua, Venta de la Estrella, Paseo de la Zumaquera, Álava, Aguirre Miramón, Nieves Cano, Julio Caro Baroja, and René Cassin.
• Reports indicate that the final foot race segment, comprising a three-lap circuit through the city centre, is scheduled between 1510 hours local time (1310 hours UTC) and 2045 hours local time (1845 hours UTC).
• The route will pass through Juan Ibáñez de Santo Domingo, Paseo de las Universidades, Paseo de la Senda, La Florida, Becerro de Bengoa, San Antonio, San Prudencio, Eduardo Dato, Postas, Virgen Blanca, Prado, Magdalena, Vicente Goicoechea, Samaniego, Siervas de Jesús, Herrería, Zapatería, Correría, Mateo Moraza, San Francisco, Fray Zacarías Martínez, Santa María, Santo Domingo, Portal de Arriaga, Nueva Dentro, Olaguíbel, and Plaza de los Fueros, where the finish line will be situated.
• Access to the Old Town will remain closed to vehicular circulation from Portal de Arriaga, San Ildefonso, Portal del Rey, and Magdalena Street between 1400 hours local time (1200 hours UTC) and 2100 hours local time (1900 hours UTC) on Saturday (06 June).
• Specific thoroughfares will be cut off from 1445 hours local time (1245 hours UTC) to 1745 hours local time (1545 hours UTC) on Saturday (06 June), including Nadine Gordimer Street (Antonio Amat Maiz direction), Paseo de la Iliada (both directions between Nadine Gordimer and Bulevar de Salburua), Bulevar de Salburua (both directions between Paseo de la Iliada and Guillermo Elio Molinuevo), Venta de la Estrella (Iturritxu direction), Aguirre Miramón, Paseo de la Zumaquera, and Álava Street.
• Prohibitions will commence at 0010 hours local time on Friday (05 June) (2210 hours UTC on Thursday, 04 June) and last until 2355 hours local time (2155 hours UTC) on Saturday (06 June) along Olaguíbel Street, specifically the section between Fueros and La Paz.
• Parking will be prohibited from 1600 hours local time (1400 hours UTC) on Friday (05 June) until 1800 hours local time (1600 hours UTC) on Saturday (06 June) along Paseo de la Zumaquera, Paseo de la Iliada, and Bulevar de Salburua.
• On Saturday (06 June), bans will affect Aguirre Miramón Street between 0600 hours local time (0400 hours UTC) and 1800 hours local time (1600 hours UTC). Additional restrictions will apply between 0010 hours local time (2210 hours UTC on Friday, 05 June) and 1900 hours local time (1700 hours UTC) on Tullonio, Venta de la Estrella, and Nadine Gordimer Street.
• General bans will cover the entire day of Saturday (06 June) on streets including Correría, Siervas de Jesús, San Francisco, the canton of Santa María, Félix María Samaniego, and José Joaquín de Landázuri.
• The Vitoria-Gasteiz tramway will partially suspend operations between the Angoulême and Parliament stops from 1430 hours local time (1230 hours UTC) to 1830 hours local time (1630 hours UTC) on Saturday (06 June). Convoys from Salburua and Unibertsitatea will terminate at Angoulême, while those from Ibaiondo and Abetxuko will run only to Parliament.
• Multiple bus stops will be non-operational between 1400 hours local time (1200 hours UTC) and 2100 hours local time (1900 hours UTC) on Saturday (06 June). This includes the Prado and Olaguíbel 20 stops on lines 05, 06, and 10, and the Prado stop on line 07.
• Between 1430 hours local time (1230 hours UTC) and 1800 hours local time (1600 hours UTC), line 06 will bypass Iliada 10; line 08 will leave Salbatierrabide out of service; and line 10 will suspend stops at Antonio Amat 2, Antonio Amat 24, Guillermo Elio, Venta de la Estrella/Oreitiasolo, and Esmaltaciones.
• The El Salvador Cemetery line will also suspend services at Prado, Olaguíbel 20, and Jesús Guridi stops between 1530 hours local time (1330 hours UTC) and 1800 hours local time (1600 hours UTC).
