The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued the following weather warnings in Kerala from Wednesday (03 June) to Sunday (07 June):
• Wednesday (03 June): An orange alert for very heavy rainfall, strong surface winds, thunderstorm, lightning and squall has been issued in Thrissur, Ernakulam, Allapuzha, and Kotayam. Moreover, a yellow alert has been issued in all the remaining districts.
• As per the IMD nowcast issued at 1000 hours (local time), a yellow alert for moderate rainfall has been issued in all the districts. The nowcast will be active till 1300 hours (local time) on Wednesday (03 June).
• Thursday (04 June): An orange alert for very heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, lightning, squalls, and strong surface winds is issued in Thrissur, Ernakulam, Kottayam, Idduki, Pathanamthitta, Kollam, Thiruvananthapuram, and Alappuzha, while the remaining districts are under a yellow alert for heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, lightning, squalls, and strong surface winds.
• Friday (05 June): The orange alert for very heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, lightning, squalls, and strong surface winds is issued in Kasaragod, Kannur, Wayanad, Kozhikode, Malappuram, Palakkad, and Thrissur, while the remaining districts are under a yellow alert for heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, lightning, squalls, and strong surface winds.
• Saturday (06 June): The orange alert for very heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, lightning, squalls, and strong surface winds is issued in Kasaragod, Kannur, and Kozhikode, while the remaining districts are under a yellow alert for heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, lightning, squalls, and strong surface winds.
• Sunday (07 June): A yellow alert for strong surface winds, thunderstorm, lightning and squall has been issued in all districts of Kerala.
