As per reports, authorities in Fort Worth, Texas, announced enhanced security and public safety measures for FIFA World Cup-related activities on Tuesday (02 June).

City officials outlined the security arrangements for a 39-day period during which Fort Worth is expected to host daily FIFA-related events, watch parties, fan gatherings, and other associated activities.

• Sundance Square in downtown Fort Worth is expected to serve as a focal point for public events during the tournament period.
• According to city authorities, preparations have involved multiple agencies and departments, including the Fort Worth Police Department, fire services, emergency medical services (EMS), emergency communications (911), transportation agencies, hospitals, and municipal authorities.
• A dedicated FIFA patrol unit comprising approximately 100 police personnel has been established for tournament-related operations. The unit is divided into eight teams operating across three shifts and is scheduled to remain available throughout the 39-day operational period.
• Authorities stated that staffing levels for police, fire services, EMS, and 911 operations are scheduled to increase on match days to support anticipated increases in visitor numbers and activity at public gathering locations.
• Municipal court operations are also being adjusted during the tournament period. Selected court proceedings and dockets are scheduled to be conducted virtually, allowing marshals, bailiffs, and deputies to be reassigned to security-related duties.
• The city’s emergency communications system has implemented artificial intelligence-enabled language translation technology capable of supporting communication in approximately 100 languages to assist international visitors contacting emergency services.
• Authorities further indicated that personnel scheduling has been adjusted to maximize operational staffing levels during the tournament.
