Thunderstorms and heavy rainfall forecast across multiple states in Nigeria on Tuesday (02 June)

As per reports from the Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) on Tuesday (02 June), severe thunderstorms accompanied by moderate to heavy rainfall are expected across several northern, central, and southern states.

The affected territories anticipating significant precipitation scenarios include the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Lagos, Kebbi, Sokoto, Borno, Kaduna, and Enugu states.

• Reports indicate that atmospheric conditions are promoting the influx of moisture-laden southwesterly winds from the Atlantic Ocean, intensifying localized weather hazards.
• Daytime temperatures are forecast to average between 33 and 35 degrees Celsius, dropping to a minimum range of 22 to 24 degrees Celsius during rainfall events.
• The Air Quality Index (AQI) across the central forecast zone is currently registered at a moderate level.
