As per reports, the Slovak Hydrometeorological Institute (SHMU) issued first-degree thunderstorm warnings for parts of western Slovakia ahead of adverse weather conditions forecast on Monday (01 June).
• Thunderstorms, localised rainfall, lightning activity, and strong winds are forecast across the Bratislava, Trnava, Nitra, Banská Bystrica, and Žilina regions.
• Wind speeds may locally reach up to 80 kilometres per hour, particularly in the districts of Dunajská Streda and Komárno.
• Reportedly, a cold front is expected to move across Slovakia on Monday (01 June), bringing a noticeable decline in temperatures following recent heat conditions, during which temperatures reached approximately 32 degrees Celsius.
• Rainfall and thunderstorms are expected to spread across much of the country overnight into Monday (01 June).
• Central Slovakia, particularly the Banska Bystrica and Zilina regions, may record localised rainfall accumulations of 15 millimetres to 30 millimetres.
