According to the Malaysian Meteorological Department (METMalaysia), a thunderstorm warning was issued at 0150 hours (local time) on Wednesday (27 May) for parts of Malaysia, including Terengganu, Pahang, Sarawak, Sabah and WP Labuan.
• The warning remains in effect until 0500 hours (local time) on Wednesday (27 May), with thunderstorms accompanied by heavy rainfall and strong winds expected during the advisory period.
• Thunderstorms accompanied by heavy rainfall and strong winds are expected across parts of Terengganu, including Setiu, Kuala Nerus, Hulu Terengganu, Kuala Terengganu, Marang, Dungun and Kemaman. Similar weather conditions are also forecast in Kuantan district in Pahang.
• In East Malaysia, thunderstorms, heavy rainfall and strong winds are expected across several areas in Sarawak, including Simunjan in Samarahan Division, Sri Aman, Saratok in Betong Division, Sarikei, Sibu, Song in Kapit Division, Tatau in Bintulu Division and Limbang.
• In Sabah, the affected areas include Kuala Penyu and Beaufort in the Interior Division, along with Papar, Putatan and Penampang in the West Coast Division. Similar conditions are also forecast in the Federal Territory of Labuan.
