As per reports, armed police responded to a suspected shooting incident on Mount Wellington Highway between Te Horeta Road and Rowlands Avenue after 0630 hours (local time) on Tuesday (26 May).

• The response involved one rapid response unit, two operations managers and one ambulance.
• One person was treated and reportedly transported to Auckland City Hospital in a serious condition. The man reportedly suffered from a serious gunshot wound.
• A scene guard is in place, and inquiries are ongoing to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the incident.
• Members of the public can expect an increased police presence in the area to remain while these inquiries take place.
