Egypt transport authorities announce Eid al-Adha transit schedule changes starting from Wednesday (27 May)

As per reports, transport authorities in Egypt announced revised operating schedules and service adjustments for Cairo Metro Line three and the Capital Train network during the Eid al-Adha holiday period from Wednesday (27 May) to Saturday (30 May). The measures are intended to accommodate increased passenger demand and improve transportation services during the holiday.

• The operator of Cairo Metro Line three stated that train frequencies are scheduled to operate every five minutes and 30 seconds throughout the weekend holiday period, while Friday operations are expected to run every six minutes and 30 seconds. For trains operating from Cairo University and Rod El Farag Corridor toward Kit Kat Station, waiting times are scheduled at approximately 11 minutes during the holiday period and 13 minutes on Fridays.
• Authorities confirmed that daily Metro Line 3 operations are scheduled from 0515 hours local time (0315 hours UTC) until 0100 hours local time (2300 hours UTC). Additional operational readiness measures are expected across the metro network during the Eid travel period.
• Separately, the operator of the Capital Train announced that services are scheduled to operate according to Friday schedules throughout the Eid holiday. Trains are expected to operate every 20 minutes, increasing to every 30 minutes after 2100 hours local time (1900 hours UTC). The last train from Adly Mansour Station to the City of Arts and Culture is scheduled to depart at 2215 hours local time (2015 hours UTC), with the final return service from the City of Arts and Culture to Adly Mansour Station also scheduled at 2215 hours local time (2015 hours UTC).
• Authorities further stated that trains operating between Badr Station and Knowledge City Station are scheduled every 40 minutes throughout the day, with the first daily departure expected at 0600 hours local time (0400 hours UTC). The Ministry of Transport announced heightened readiness measures across railways, metro systems, electric train services, the East Nile Monorail, and shuttle bus services during the holiday period.
