The Indian National Center for Seismology (NCS) recorded a 3.9 magnitude earthquake in Myanmar at 1132 hours (local time) on Monday (18 May).
The earthquake occurred near Monywa, at a depth of 79 kilometres, and may possibly have caused tremors in nearby population centers such as Mandalay, Monywa, and others.
• No tremors have been currently recorded at Champhai, Mizoram, India, which is the closest Indian population center to the earthquake (193 kilometres).
