IMD issues weather warnings in Delhi-NCR on Thursday (30 April)

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), a yellow alert has been issued for thunderstorm, lightning and squall with strong surface winds across Delhi on Thursday (30 April).

Following are additional details:

• IMD nowcast for Delhi has also issued an orange alert for light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorm, lightning and hailstorms with wind speed ranging between 50-60 kmph. The nowcast warning is mostly valid till 1730 hours (local time) and may be extended as well while some areas in Delhi under nowcast warning have validity as 1800 hours (local time).
• In the NCR, Ghaziabad and Gautam Buddha Nagar are also under an orange alert for thunderstorm, lightning, hailstorm and strong surface winds on Thursday (30 April).
• Additionally, IMD has placed Gurugram under a yellow nowcast warning of light rainfall less than five mm/hr along with light thunderstorms with maximum surface wind speed less than 40 kmph till 1810 hours (local time).
