As per reports, a United Airlines flight (United 1980) from San Francisco to San Diego reportedly hit a possible drone at approximately 3,000 feet prior to landing at San Diego International Airport (SAN) on Wednesday (29 April).

• The pilot described the object as red and shiny; however, the exact object has not been confirmed as a drone.
• The Boeing 737 aircraft landed safely at SAN around 0845 hours local time (1545 hours UTC).
• A total of 48 passengers and six crew members were on board.
• United Airlines reported that maintenance teams found no damage after thoroughly inspecting the aircraft.
• Flights and airport operations appeared to be running normally post-incident.
