As per reports, a Labour Day demonstration and rally are scheduled to take place in Detmold, located in the Lippe district of North Rhine-Westphalia, on Friday (01 May).
• The event is being organised by the German Trade Union Confederation (DGB) for the East Westphalia-Lippe region under the theme ‘Our jobs first, then your profits,’ highlighting concerns over job security, working conditions, and rising living costs.
• The demonstration is scheduled to commence at 1000 hours local time (0800 hours UTC) from Kronenplatz and will proceed through the city centre, which is likely to result in temporary road closures, traffic congestion, and movement disruptions along the procession route.
• A rally is scheduled to follow at 1100 hours local time (0900 hours UTC) at the Market Square, after which a public gathering including a family and cultural event is expected to take place.
• The event is expected to attract participation from trade union members, workers, and affiliated groups, with speeches and public addresses focusing on labour rights, social protections, and economic pressures.
