The Bangladesh Meteorological Department has issued following weather forecast for Bangladesh on Monday (27 April);
• Forecast till 1800 hours (local time) on Monday (27 April):
– Rainfall: Light to moderate rainfall/thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty/squally wind and lightning flashes is likely to
occur at a few places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh & Sylhet divisions and at one or two places over Khulna,
Barishal & Chattogram divisions with moderately heavy to very heavy falls at places over Rangpur, Dhaka, Mymensingh & Sylhet
divisions.
– Temperature: Day temperature may fall slightly and night temperature may fall by one to two degree Celsius over the country.
– Heat wave: Prevailing heat wave over the districts of Rangamati, Lakshmipur & Bandarban may abate.
• Forecast from 1800 hours on Monday (27 April) to 1800 hours on Tuesday (28 April):
– Rainfall: Light to moderate rainfall/thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty/squally wind and lightning flashes is likely to
occur at a few places over Dhaka, Mymensingh, Chattogram & Sylhet divisions and at one or two places over Rangpur, Rajshahi,
Khulna & Barishal divisions with moderately heavy to very heavy falls at places over Dhaka, Mymensingh, Chattogram & Sylhet
divisions.
– Temperature: Day temperature may fall slightly and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country.
• The Meteorological Department has stated that gusty winds of up to 80 kilometers per hour are likely to hit some parts of the country by noon. There is also a risk of rainfall or thundershowers.
• This information was given in the warning issued by the Meteorological Department for the country’s inland river ports until 1300 hours on Monday (27 April).
• Temporary gusty or squally winds of 60 to 80 kilometers per hour from the west or northwest may blow over the Rangpur, Dinajpur, Rajshahi, Pabna, Bogra, Tangail, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Sylhet and Comilla regions.
