As per reports, a watermain break reported in Scarborough area of Toronto, has resulted in water gushing approximately 10 feet into the air and causing localized flooding conditions, on Monday (20 April).
The incident is reported near the intersection of Neilson Drive and Dundas Street West. Emergency services responded to the scene at approximately 0415 hours local time (0815 hours UTC) on Monday (20 April).
• City officials have indicated that the rupture occurred in an existing watermain currently undergoing replacement as part of an ongoing municipal infrastructure project.
• As of 1340 hours local time (1740 hours UTC), response crews remain on-site conducting repair, clean-up, and restoration operations, according to City of Toronto Engineering and Construction Services.
• Authorities have indicated that restoration of water supply to the affected property is expected by the end of the day on Monday (20 April).
