As per the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), a 4.1 magnitude earthquake was recorded 16 kilometres West of Porangahau, near Hawke’s Bay, New Zealand at approximately 0148 hours (local time) on Wednesday (15 April).
It is indicated that weak shaking may have been felt in nearby population centers such as Porangahau, Hastings Town, Takapau, Otane, Norsewood, and others.
