As per reports, a pro-Palestine demonstration involving around 200 participants took place on Third Avenue in Manhattan near the offices of Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer and US Senator Kirsten Gillibrand during the afternoon hours on Monday (13 April).

The protest was organized under the banner of Jewish Voice for Peace, a Jewish group that supports Palestinian rights, against continued US military support for Israel and to criticize both senators for voting against a measure aimed at blocking US arms sales to Israel.

• Protesters reportedly blocked traffic on the Third Avenue for approximately less than one hour, resulting in temporary disruption to road movement in the surrounding Manhattan area.
• The New York City Police Department detained approximately 50 demonstrators after intervening to clear the roadway.
