As per reports, a large-scale strike affecting the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) is anticipated from Tuesday (14 April).

On Sunday (12 April), tentative agreements were reached between the district, and two key labor unions. Negotiations between LAUSD and Service Employees International Union (SEIU) Local 99 were ongoing as of Monday (13 April).

• The strike is expected to proceed on Tuesday (14 April) unless all three unions finalize agreements, as all unions have committed to honor a joint walkout if any one union remains unresolved.
• LAUSD has stated it is continuing to work around the clock to reach agreements and keep schools open. The district has also activated contingency planning for food distribution and limited childcare support if schools close.
• If strike proceeds and schools close, LAUSD has planned to operate student meal distribution at select campuses from Tuesday (14 April) through Friday (17 April), from 0900 hours local time (1600 hours UTC) to 1200 hours local time (1900 hours UTC), subject to availability.
