Traffic disruptions expected due to Vaishakhi parade in Vancouver on Saturday (11 April)

As per reports, the annual Vaishakhi parade is scheduled to take place in South Vancouver on Saturday (11 April).

The parade is scheduled to commence at 1100 hours local time (1800 hours UTC) and continue until 1700 hours local time on Saturday (10 April) (0000 hours UTC on 12 April), beginning from the Khalsa Diwan Society Gurdwara on 8000 Ross Street.

• Designated route for the procession is along North Ross Street, 57th Avenue, Main Street, 49th Street, Fraser Street and back to Ross Street via 57th Avenue.
• Parking restrictions are to be implemented from 1200 hours local time (1900 hours UTC) on Friday (10 April) until 2000 hours local time on Saturday (11 April) (0300 hours UTC on 12 April).
• Traffic disruptions due to the event are expected from 0700 hours local time (1400 hours UTC) on Saturday (11 April), with road closures expected to begin at 0900 hours local time (1600 hours UTC).
• Roads are expected to reopen from approximately 1800 hours local time on Saturday (11 April) (0100 hours UTC on 12 April).
• Exit and entry points are to be controlled and limited to intersections of Prince Edward Street and 49th Avenue, Prince Edward Street and 57th Avenue, and 55th Avenue and Fraser Street.
• Traffic control personnel are to be deployed to manage vehicle movement. Authorities, including the Vancouver Police Department and Vancouver Fire Rescue Services are expected to coordinate safety and crowd management operations.
