As per reports, the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) staged a protest along the Parliament access road near Diyatha Uyana in Battaramulla on Friday (10 April). Protesters began gathering near Polduwa Junction from the morning hours, leading to significant traffic congestion in the surrounding areas.

Several prominent political figures participated in the demonstration, including Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa, Party General Secretary Ranjith Madduma Bandara, and Members of Parliament Harsha de Silva and Mujibur Rahman, along with several other SJB parliamentarians, protesting against the current government measures. In response, police have reportedly closed the road at Polduwa Junction to manage the situation, and further details are awaited.
