The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued the indicated weather alerts in the following metro cities, as of Thursday (09 April).

• Mumbai and Pune: No warning has been issued in the forecast or nowcast.
• Delhi, Noida, and Gurugram – No warning has been issued in the forecast or nowcast.
• Bengaluru – No warning has been issued in the forecast or nowcast.
• Hyderabad – No warning has been issued in the forecast or nowcast.
• Chennai – A yellow alert for thunderstorms accompanied by lightning, squall with strong surface winds has been issued in the forecast. No warning has been issued in the nowcast.
• Kolkata – A yellow alert for thunderstorms accompanied by lightning, squall with strong surface winds has been issued in the forecast. Additionally, an orange alert for moderate rainfall with thunderstorms and strong surface winds, along with moderate cloud-to-ground lightning, is active till 0600 hours (local time), as per nowcast.
• Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar – No warning has been issued in the forecast. Nowcast updates are awaited.
