CWA issues yellow strong wind advisory across Taiwan on Thursday (09 April)

The Central Weather Administration (CWA) has issued a yellow strong wind advisory for multiple counties and cities across Taiwan on Thursday (09 April). The following are the additional details:

• Yellow strong wind conditions are expected across Taoyuan City, Hsinchu City, Hsinchu County, Pingtung County, Taitung County, Hualien County, Penghu County, Lienchiang County, where daily strong winds may reach level six, with gusts reaching level eight.
• The advisory indicates that strong or gale-force winds are observed or expected, corresponding to ten-minute average wind speeds exceeding 10.80 meters per second, or gusts exceeding 17.20 meters per second. These winds may produce flying debris from trees, affect unstable structures or fixtures, and pose risks to outdoor workers.
• Coastal and offshore areas may experience rougher conditions, and minor delays in public transportation cannot be ruled out. Motorists may encounter reduced stability on bridges, elevated routes, or open coastal stretches.
