As per reports, actors in Kolkata have announced an indefinite strike, leading to a halt in all film and television shooting activities from Tuesday (07 April) starting 1000 hours (local time). The decision was taken by the West Bengal Motion Pictures Artistes Forum in protest against the death of actor Rahul Arunoday Banerjee.

• It has been reported that along with actors, a large section of technical workers will also participate in the strike, leading to a suspension of both film and television productions across the industry.
• Additionally, artists, technicians, producers, and directors are scheduled to gather again at Technicians Studio at 1000 hours (local time) on Tuesday (07 April) to discuss further steps. There is also uncertainty regarding the broadcast of pre-recorded content due to limited stock availability.
