As per reports, a scuffle took place outside the Chief Electoral Officer’s (CEO) office in Kolkata on Tuesday (31 March), between the Trinamool Congress (TMC)-backed booth-level officers (BLOs) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers over alleged voter list manipulation.

Tensions escalated after Leader of Opposition (LoP) and BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari visited the CEO office to lodge a complaint against Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, accusing her of instigating unrest. Shortly after his departure, the situation escalated, leading to the scuffle. Additional police forces were deployed and had to resort to a baton-charge to bring the situation under control. Authorities are closely monitoring developments to prevent further escalation.
