As per reports, a fire affecting approximately 300 hectares of an oil palm plantation in Rompin, Pahang has been partially contained, with around 60 hectares extinguished as of 1700 hours (local time) on Saturday (28 March).
• Firefighting operations led by the Pahang Fire and Rescue Department have included multiple ground teams and aerial water-bombing efforts, with 85 runs conducted using approximately 68000 litres of water.
• The affected area has been divided into four operational sectors, with sectors B and D currently under control, while containment efforts continue in other sectors. Authorities expect the fire to be fully extinguished within one week, subject to conditions.
