Severe weather conditions forecast across multiple regions of Kazakhstan on Wednesday (25 March)

As per reports, diverse severe weather conditions, including thunderstorms, heavy rain, snowfall, fog, dust storms, strong winds and icy road conditions, are forecast across several regions of Kazakhstan on Wednesday (25 March).

• Thunderstorms and heavy rainfall are expected in southern and mountainous regions, particularly across Zhetisu, Almaty, Atyrau, Mangystau, Turkestan and Zhambyl regions, with heavy rain and occasional rain–snow mix likely in elevated terrain such as the Ile Alatau mountains.
• Strong winds with gusts generally ranging between 15–20 metres per second, locally up to 23 metres per second in mountainous areas, are forecast across southern, eastern and central regions, including Almaty region, Turkestan region, Mangystau region and Zhambyl region.
• Dust storm conditions are anticipated in parts of Kyzylorda and eastern Atyrau regions during daytime hours, potentially reducing visibility and affecting surface transport.
• Widespread fog is forecast overnight and during morning hours across central, northern and eastern regions, including Karaganda, Ulytau, Pavlodar, Kostanay, Akmola, Aktobe, West Kazakhstan and East Kazakhstan regions, as well as major cities such as Astana, Karaganda, Pavlodar and Uralsk.
• Icy road conditions are likely in northern and eastern regions such as Pavlodar, Akmola, East Kazakhstan and Abai regions, particularly overnight and early morning, increasing accident risks.
