The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued orange and yellow alerts across Gujarat on Friday (20 March) for heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, lightning, squalls and strong surface winds. The following are the affected areas:

Heavy rainfall is forecast across Kachchh, Devbhoomi Dwarka, and Porbandar districts, accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, squalls, and strong surface winds.

• An orange alert is issued for Banaskantha, Sabarkantha, Patan, Morbi, Jamnagar, Junagarh, Gir Somnath, Amreli, Rajkot, Kachchh, Devbhoomi Dwarka, and Porbandar districts.
• A yellow alert is issued for Ahmedabad, Anand, Aravalli, Bharuch, Bhavnagar, Botad, Chhota Udaipur, Dahod, Dang, Gandhinagar, Kheda, Mahisagar, Mehsana, Narmada, Navsari, Panchmahal, Surat, Surendranagar, Tapi, Vadodara, and Valsad districts.
