Protests scheduled in Athens against Greece’s involvement in Middle East war on 27 March

As per reports, labour organisations in Greece have announced a large-scale anti-war protest and rally in Athens, scheduled at 1830 hours local time (1630 hours UTC) on 27 March.

• Reports indicate that the mobilisation is being led by the Piraeus Labour Centre, with support from multiple trade unions, including the Athens Builders’ Union.
• The protest is reportedly expected to take place at Syntagma Square, outside the Ministry of Finance, followed by a planned march towards the US Embassy in Athens.
• The demonstration is reportedly being organized under the slogan ‘No participation – No involvement – Greece out of the war – We will not pay the cost.’ Organisers have issued a broad call to participation targeting workers, youth, unions, federations, and the wider public across the Attica region.
