As per reports, the Euro-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) has recorded a 4.0 magnitude earthquake offshore Oaxaca, Mexico, on Tuesday (17 March).

The earthquake occurred at 0201 hours local time (0801 hours UTC) at a depth of 16 kilometres, placing it in the shallow category (0 to 70 kilometres). The epicentre was recorded at coordinates 15.513 degrees North, 96.809 degrees West, approximately 44 kilometres southeast of Brisas de Zicatela and 173 kilometres south of Oaxaca city.
