Bomb threat reported in Wangaratta on Saturday (14 March)

As per reports, an improvised explosive device was found in Templeton Street, Wangaratta, on Saturday (14 March), prompting a call to the specialist Bomb Response Unit from Melbourne to diffuse the device.

The Bomb Response Unit attended, and nearby areas were evacuated as a precaution. The streets were cordoned from approximately, with the situation fully resolved by afternoon. Wangaratta Acting Sergeant stated that the explosive device was diffused by the Bomb Response Unit.
