According to reports, Indonesia’s Ministry of Public Works has mapped 52 flood-risked and 53 landslide-prone locations across West Java. The ministry’s head of the Highways DG, Rina Kumala Sari, stated that the flagged locations start in Bekasi and Bogor.
• Several flood-prone areas are monitored from Parung to Bandung, then from Pelabuhan Ratu to Surade. Furthermore, in the Jatiasih Subdistrict, Bekasi City, Sindangbarang, Cidaun, Purwakarta, Sumedang, Cileunyi, Tasikmalaya, around Palimanan, Cipatujah, Kalapagenep, and Pangandaran.
• Meanwhile, areas vulnerable to landslides include Cibinong, Cianjur, Cikembang, Tegalbuleud, Sindangbarang, Purwakarta to Sinumbra, around Palimanan, Bojongloa, Cipasung, Kalapagenep, and Pameungpeuk.
• The Jakarta-West Java Highways DG has been anticipating floods bycleaning out the river channels together with the watershed office (BBWS).
• Highways DG also mentioned that the task unit has prepared 117 Disaster Relief Units (DRU) and 31 units of UPR equipment.
