Description:
The Jakarta Transportation authorities announced traffic disruptions near Jalan Medan Merdeka Selatan on Wednesday (03 December). The disruptions were reported due to the ongoing protest by the Jakarta Branch of Serikat Pekerja Aneka Industri.
The Corridor 2, Corridor 3, Routes 1A, 1P, 2A, 2P, 2Q, 5C, 6A, 6B, 14A, BW2 and BW4 have been impacted and are reporting traffic disruptions.
Background:
At 0800 hours (WIB), around 300 members of the Jakarta Branch of Serikat Pekerja Aneka Industri (FSPMI) started to protest at Jakarta City Hall (Jl. Medan Merdeka Selatan), demanding regulated wage payments, settlement of BPJS arrears, and severance compensation for deceased workers.
Impact:
Traffic disruptions are likely to continue until the protests conclude, as road blockades, slow-moving processions, and increased police deployment may persist throughout the demonstration period.
