The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) Regional Office has issued an early warning for potential inclement weather in Banten Province, from Thursday to Monday (04 to 08 December). The following are the additional details:
• Moderate to heavy rainfall is forecast for Greater Tangerang, including Tangerang Regency, Tangerang City, and South Tangerang City.
• Heavy to very heavy rainfall (alert status) is expected in South and East Lebak Regency.
• Moderate to heavy rainfall (watch status) is forecast for Pandeglang Regency, Central Lebak, western and southern Serang Regency, and Serang City.
Background:
The extreme weather is caused by active atmospheric dynamics in western Indonesia. BMKG Head of Regional Office II, Hartanto, explained that Kelvin atmospheric wave activity increases convective cloud growth potential in early December.
