The Malaysian Meteorological Department (Met Malaysia) has issued a thunderstorm warning at 2030 hours on Wednesday (08 April) for parts of Malaysia, with thunderstorms accompanied by heavy rainfall and strong winds expected over several states until 0000 hours on Thursday (09 April)
Locations likely to be impacted include areas of Kedah (Langkawi, Yan, Pendang, Kuala Muda, Sik, Baling, Kulim and Bandar Baharu); Penang; Perak (Kerian, Larut, Matang and Selama, Hulu Perak and Kuala Kangsar); Johor (Segamat, Muar, Batu Pahat, Kluang and Kota Tinggi); Sarawak: Miri (Telang Usan) and Limbang; Interior (Sipitang, Tenom, Beaufort and Keningau), West Coast (Papar) and Tawau (Tawau).
Impact:
Adverse weather conditions are likely to result in localised water accumulation, reduced visibility, and short-term disruptions to road movement, particularly during periods of intense rainfall and gusty winds.
Intermittent delays to ground transport and field movement may occur, with conditions expected to remain localised and dynamic. Disruptions to power supply and communications cannot be ruled out.
