Description:

The Thai Meteorological Department has issued a regional weather outlook indicating cool to cold conditions, morning fog, isolated thundershowers and moderate winds across parts of Thailand on Thursday (04 December). The following are the additional details:

• Cool to cold conditions with morning fog are expected across the northern, northeastern, central and eastern regions. Minimum temperatures across these areas will range between 14–25 degrees Celsius, while maximum temperatures will range between 28–34 degrees Celsius. Mountain tops in the north and northeast will remain cold to very cold, with minimum temperatures between 5–15 degrees Celsius. Winds will vary between easterly, northeasterly and northwesterly at 10–30 km/hr, with the eastern coast experiencing wave heights of around 1 meter.
• Morning cool conditions and isolated thundershowers are expected across parts of the eastern seaboard, primarily affecting Sa Kaeo, Chanthaburi and Trat. The southern east coast will see isolated thundershowers mainly in Surat Thani, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phatthalung, Songkhla and Pattani, while the southern west coast may experience isolated thundershowers mostly in Trang and Satun. Minimum temperatures across southern regions will range from 20–24 degrees Celsius, with maximum temperatures between 30–32 degrees Celsius. Coastal waters along both southern coasts will observe wave heights of around 1 meter.
• Bangkok and the surrounding areas will remain cool with morning light fog. Minimum temperatures will range from 23–25 degrees Celsius and maximum temperatures from 33–34 degrees Celsius, accompanied by northwesterly winds between 10–20 km/hr.

Impact:

Morning fog across the northern, northeastern, central and Bangkok regions may reduce visibility, potentially slowing early travel on main corridors. Isolated thundershowers in eastern and southern provinces may cause short-duration visibility drops, slippery roads and brief drainage overflow. Moderate coastal wave activity may affect small vessels and nearshore operations along both southern coasts and parts of the eastern seaboard.

Isolated rainfall in southern coastal provinces may lead to brief visibility reductions and slippery patches on coastal roads. Elevated wave heights in eastern and southern maritime zones could disrupt small vessel movements, pose operational risks to nearshore activities and impact ferry schedules during periods of stronger winds or thundershowers.
