Locations Affected: central Moscow, Botanichesky Sad metro station, VDNKh metro station, Ostankino station, VDNKh territory, Moscow, Russia
Tracking Id: RINTP2724239368
Description:
As per reports, public transport disruptions and road closures are expected in Moscow on Saturday (14 June) due to the ‘ZOBeg’ sports event and related city activities.
• On Saturday (14 June), passenger bus services operating on routes No. 522 and 533 through the VDNKh territory in Moscow will be temporarily suspended starting at 2200 hours (local time) due to the ‘ZOBeg’ sports event.
• To facilitate continued mobility, the Department of Transport has advised passengers to utilise alternate public transport options. Specifically, travellers commuting from the Ostankino station (third route of the Moscow Central Diameters) to the main entrance of VDNKh have been advised to use bus No. 76. Commuters between VDNKh metro station and Botanichesky Sad metro station are recommended to use bus routes No. 154 and No. 428.
Impact:
• Disruption of regular bus routes No. 522 and 533 is expected to affect passenger movement in and around the VDNKh territory. Congestion is likely on alternate routes and at metro stations serving the affected area.
• Businesses operating in and around the VDNKh region may experience delays in staff commuting and reduced customer footfall.
• Delivery and logistics services may be affected by the rerouted traffic and transit congestion.
• Additionally, due to the scale of the ‘ZOBeg’ sports event, there is a possibility of cordons and traffic patrol deployment in key areas, which may further restrict movement and increase travel times.
Recommendations:
• Advised to plan travel in advance and make use of the suggested alternative routes (bus No. 76, 154, and 428).
• Recommended to use metro services where possible to bypass affected surface-level transport. Advised to allow extra travel time due to potential delays and increased demand on alternative routes.
• Recommended to monitor further updates via the official portal of the Moscow Department of Transportation (https://transport.mos.ru/).
