The Candle Move, a non-governmental organisation (NGO) will be holding the ‘177th Candlelight March for the Liquadation of Civil War and Realisation of National Sovereignty’ near Exit 7 of Seocho Station in front of the Supreme Court in Seoul, from 1600 hours (local time) onwards on Saturday (07 February).
Background:
This latest candlelight amrch seems to be associated with acquittal of bribery allegations on Myun Tae-gyun and Kim Young-sun.
Impact:
Increased footfall can be anticipated at Seocho Station, ahead of the candlelight march, which may lead to delays or limited routes of trains passing through the station. Travel disruptions can be anticipated on Banpo-daero, Seocho-daero, Donggwang-ro, Seocho-dero 40-gil and other nearby arterial roads.
Heightened security depolyment is expected in front of the Supreme Court to ensure public order and safety. In case of any escalations, police intervention can be expected.

It is advised to plan travel while accounting for delays and to use alternate routes where possible. It is also advised to avoid the vicinity of Supreme Court during the event, to ensure personal safety.
